I just found out that I was accepted into SAIT (Southern Alberta Insitute of Techonolgy). I'm going to do the Bussiness Admin program. I really really really want to do this. I can't wait. I'm still waiting to hear back from my first choice though, Bow Valley College. Still just so excited. Wanting to jump up in the air and tell the whole world my news.

As much as I hate whinning...
I have too. I hate not finding out stuff until the last minute. This morning I was ready to go and help my Dad and step-mom with the morning service at the hospital, I went to go and see if they were ready to go at 9:50, but they were asleep again. I was then informed that they felt too tired to go. Not that I particularly wanted to go and help at the service ( I don't have good associations with any hospital), but I was ready to go. I'm starting to feel like living at home I'm lossing all my freedom of knowledge.
I totally mean that I don't find most things out until the last moment. If it effects me, I like to know ahead of time so I can make plans. I'm starting to want my old life back that I had in Red Deer, my sh**y apartment, my ex, my old going no where job. At least I knew what was going on.
I guess you could say today that generally I'm pissed off. If it wasn't for that fact that I won't drink when I feel this way, I'd be going for a big one right now. This afternoon I have to tell my parents how I feel. I have to be open and honest with them, just right now (besides the fact they're sleeping), I don't want to.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

Why can't I find a hairdresser??
It's not like I'm looking for a heart transplant doctor or anything, I just want a hair cut. Somewhere close to work, that I can get into this Tuesday night. Is that too much to ask. If there are any hairdressers from the South end of Calgary reading this before Tuesday and can fit me in, please email me, ( crocheted_monkey@hotmail.com )
Okay, I had to rant about that.
Anyways back to my more normal type of posts. Works been okay, home life been great, love life I'm just as confused about as normal. On that crocheting front at least my talents will be put to good work sometime in the future.
In the past two weeks I was making a prayer shawl for the prayer ministry at church. Yesterday my step mom took it in for her meeting with the minister. At some point in the future prayer shawls might become part of the "Called to Care" ministry at our church.
That's about it for today.

How not to keep your blog up to date...
Okay so I'm horriable at remembering to do even quick little post on here. Oh well, I'm busy
like 90% of the world is. Working, travelling to and from work, eating, and sleeping takes up a lot of my time. The rest of the time I have left lately has been filled with too many personal issue to talk about with the general public. (Sorry to those in the celebrity gossip collumns that take the stories from no celebrity lifes).
Valentines day came and went. I did what a girl does best, went shopping. I bought a great not so little tankini, a sweater, and a whole lot of books. It ended up being a good night out with my Step-mom rather then a missribable night at home by myself.
That adorable cat to the right of the screen was my cat Shota. She's the one that I had to give up for adoption about a month ago since she didn't get along at all with my parents two cats, Tabbi and Callie.
On the crocheting front I must admit that I could be doing a lot more work. The afghan that I was ranting and raving about a couple of months ago is really not that much futher since I keep on running out of yarn. I've started a couple of smaller projects but nothing seems to be keeping my interest so I end up just sitting and watching TV with out my hook going.
That's about it for now.

Sick Day :(
Unfortantly today, I was sick from work.
Granted it could have been a blessing too, I hear from my step-mom that it's snowing pretty bad right now in Calgary.
The picture to the right is of my Grandma and I last May celebrating my birthday. That is a picture of just some of the yarn that I recieved from her.
This afternoon, (after I slept for 12 hours or so), I started working the the Knifty Knitter I got for Christmas from my Step-sister. I wanted to do something that I could put down easily if I had a coughing spell. (Which there were plently of). I'm just making a scarf with some Patons Twister.
That's about it for today, gotta go and make super.

I'm back!
Sorry to all my readers for the extended period of adsence. A lot has happend in my life in the last 6 months. Most importantly, I'm single again!!!!! (Yipe!!!!! Add dancing around the room, I love the single life).I've moved on from what had been a three year chapter in my life, and done some more soul searching. And litterally I moved as well, Good-bye Central Alberta, Hello Southern Alberta.
As far as crocheting is involved, I sold and made some poncho for a couple of my co-workers from Red Deer. Currently I'm working on one of my favourite winter projects, an afghan. I'm not sure if this one is going to be a gift or a gift to me, but I sure love the colors.
(For those who are wondering who that person is in the picture is, it's me, taken about 2 months ago).
I don't really have much to say beyond that today.

I got mail
I got mail today! Good mail at that! Okay I knew about it yesterday, but now I have it in my little hands. I got another package from my Crochetville secret pal. I feel so lucky. In it was a bunch of stuff from Burts Bee's (I've heard so much about this stuff and I've wanted to try it), 2 balls of Lion Brand Suede in Ebony, a pattern for an open style mesh poncho and a nice note from her. I feel like somedays she lives inside my head, she seems to know me so well.
Tomorrow one of my co-workers and I are going shopping after work. I have so many people to shop for yarn for, my secret pal, and my two yarn swap partners. I might have to sneak a skien or two in for me.
Oh yeah, I have my first pattern aviable on my pattern blog now. If you would like to check it out you can follow this link http://crochetedmonkeypatterns.blogspot.com/2005/06/fulled-cellphone-caddy.html

My stash grew on the weekend
When I went down to my parents house for the weekend to think about the situation between me and Scott I found some yarn somehow ended up in my hands in Wal-Mart and and the thrift store. Okay the devil on my shoulder told me to buy more yarn that I didn't need when I only need one skien of Bernat Galaxy to finish a scarf. At Wal-Mart I ended up with a skien of Bernat Lulu in addition to the Galaxy. (I made coffee cozies for my Step-Mom and Step-sister with it and am going to make baby booties with the rest). At the thrift store I found a bag of black worsted weight (5 skiens) yarn for $2. I had to buy, the addicit in me wouldn't let me.
And tomorrow is payday and I'm going shopping for more 100% so I can make the Pikes Place Market Bag.
I don't want a cure for being addicated to yarn.

More floods...
I'm more worried a couple of hours after getting home and I'm more worried now. Part of High River has just been evacutated, and the news just said that they are evacutating the campground just across from my grandma's house in Black Diamond. And I think I see Noah's going by with a load full of wood with plans to build another ark. (lol)
Holy shit!
Holy shit!

That where I was this weekend. My parents live in High River and when I left this morning the water was higher then it is in the pic. My grandmother also lives in the region and I'm more worried about here place because she backs onto a river. My step sister is going to find out if she can go and help. Unfortantly I can't, I have to go back to work tomorrow.

I went shopping
Today Scott left for Edmonton to finish his training for his oilfield job, so what did I decided to do. Go shopping of course. I only went to two different stores, but I ended with a haul that I got.
1 skien of Merion Classic wool in Bright Red
2 pairs of Flip flops (one for me and one for my step-daughter, Kiri)
3 crochet hooks, sizes C, E, & G
1 package of pink iridencent beads
1 package of pin backings
1 tape measure
Now I get to have fun and clean (not!)

WIP's and WIM's
WIP's
1. The infamous crocheted monkey for my step-daughter. Does anyone know of an online pattern (for free) that I could use for this one
2. The knitted poncho for a christmas present. Still have to go and buy more yarn, but I want to use the yummy yarns that my Grandmother gave me first.
3. A poncho for myself, I used the pattern that my Crochetville secret pal sent me.
4. The cabled knitted sweater for my friend at work. I decided to modify this pattern, but I have until the start of fall to finish this one.
5. The crochet tote bag for myself. I want to finish this one, but other projects end up calling my name louder.
WIM's
More coffee cozies
A bingo dabber bag for my MIL
A poncho for my Step-daughter
That's about all for today, atleast my mountian of UFO's is shrinking this week.

- A size K crochet hook
- Size 5 knitting needles
- Some Sculpty Clay
- Some beads for crocheting
- A cheap watch
- And some note paper.
Thank goodness I pack light this time.

It's Monday again
Isn't it funny how every week Monday rolls around again. I know I haven't been updating my blog lately, but with the weather being nicer and the projects rolling out of my mind I haven't had time to update.
I just finished some projects for my Crochetville Secret Pal. I'll be mailing them off tomorrow. I have more things her, but I have lots of time to send them of.
I also signed up for the Crochetville Summer yarn swap today. I can't wait until June 1st so I can find out who I have for it.
I've gotta go, to many projects to do.
