How not to keep your blog up to date...

Okay so I'm horriable at remembering to do even quick little post on here. Oh well, I'm busy like 90% of the world is. Working, travelling to and from work, eating, and sleeping takes up a lot of my time. The rest of the time I have left lately has been filled with too many personal issue to talk about with the general public. (Sorry to those in the celebrity gossip collumns that take the stories from no celebrity lifes).

Valentines day came and went. I did what a girl does best, went shopping. I bought a great not so little tankini, a sweater, and a whole lot of books. It ended up being a good night out with my Step-mom rather then a missribable night at home by myself.

That adorable cat to the right of the screen was my cat Shota. She's the one that I had to give up for adoption about a month ago since she didn't get along at all with my parents two cats, Tabbi and Callie.

On the crocheting front I must admit that I could be doing a lot more work. The afghan that I was ranting and raving about a couple of months ago is really not that much futher since I keep on running out of yarn. I've started a couple of smaller projects but nothing seems to be keeping my interest so I end up just sitting and watching TV with out my hook going.

That's about it for now.

Sick Day :(

Unfortantly today, I was sick from work.
Granted it could have been a blessing too, I hear from my step-mom that it's snowing pretty bad right now in Calgary.

The picture to the right is of my Grandma and I last May celebrating my birthday. That is a picture of just some of the yarn that I recieved from her.

This afternoon, (after I slept for 12 hours or so), I started working the the Knifty Knitter I got for Christmas from my Step-sister. I wanted to do something that I could put down easily if I had a coughing spell. (Which there were plently of). I'm just making a scarf with some Patons Twister.

That's about it for today, gotta go and make super.

I'm back!

Sorry to all my readers for the extended period of adsence. A lot has happend in my life in the last 6 months. Most importantly, I'm single again!!!!! (Yipe!!!!! Add dancing around the room, I love the single life).

I've moved on from what had been a three year chapter in my life, and done some more soul searching. And litterally I moved as well, Good-bye Central Alberta, Hello Southern Alberta.

As far as crocheting is involved, I sold and made some poncho for a couple of my co-workers from Red Deer. Currently I'm working on one of my favourite winter projects, an afghan. I'm not sure if this one is going to be a gift or a gift to me, but I sure love the colors.

(For those who are wondering who that person is in the picture is, it's me, taken about 2 months ago).

I don't really have much to say beyond that today. Posted by Picasa

I got mail

I got mail today! Good mail at that! Okay I knew about it yesterday, but now I have it in my little hands. I got another package from my Crochetville secret pal. I feel so lucky. In it was a bunch of stuff from Burts Bee's (I've heard so much about this stuff and I've wanted to try it), 2 balls of Lion Brand Suede in Ebony, a pattern for an open style mesh poncho and a nice note from her. I feel like somedays she lives inside my head, she seems to know me so well.

Tomorrow one of my co-workers and I are going shopping after work. I have so many people to shop for yarn for, my secret pal, and my two yarn swap partners. I might have to sneak a skien or two in for me.

Oh yeah, I have my first pattern aviable on my pattern blog now. If you would like to check it out you can follow this link http://crochetedmonkeypatterns.blogspot.com/2005/06/fulled-cellphone-caddy.html

That's about it for today.

My stash grew on the weekend

When I went down to my parents house for the weekend to think about the situation between me and Scott I found some yarn somehow ended up in my hands in Wal-Mart and and the thrift store. Okay the devil on my shoulder told me to buy more yarn that I didn't need when I only need one skien of Bernat Galaxy to finish a scarf. At Wal-Mart I ended up with a skien of Bernat Lulu in addition to the Galaxy. (I made coffee cozies for my Step-Mom and Step-sister with it and am going to make baby booties with the rest). At the thrift store I found a bag of black worsted weight (5 skiens) yarn for $2. I had to buy, the addicit in me wouldn't let me.

And tomorrow is payday and I'm going shopping for more 100% so I can make the Pikes Place Market Bag.

I don't want a cure for being addicated to yarn.

More floods...

I'm more worried a couple of hours after getting home and I'm more worried now. Part of High River has just been evacutated, and the news just said that they are evacutating the campground just across from my grandma's house in Black Diamond. And I think I see Noah's going by with a load full of wood with plans to build another ark. (lol)

Holy shit!

That where I was this weekend. My parents live in High River and when I left this morning the water was higher then it is in the pic. My grandmother also lives in the region and I'm more worried about here place because she backs onto a river. My step sister is going to find out if she can go and help. Unfortantly I can't, I have to go back to work tomorrow.

It's Monday again

Isn't it funny how every week Monday rolls around again. I know I haven't been updating my blog lately, but with the weather being nicer and the projects rolling out of my mind I haven't had time to update.

I just finished some projects for my Crochetville Secret Pal. I'll be mailing them off tomorrow. I have more things her, but I have lots of time to send them of.

I also signed up for the Crochetville Summer yarn swap today. I can't wait until June 1st so I can find out who I have for it.

I've gotta go, to many projects to do.

Still doing the Happy Dance

I finally heard from my Crochetville Secret Pal today. I'm soooooooooo happy! I was starting to think that she had forgotten about the Summer Secret Pal Swap. I got an email and a e-card from her. The card was so funny, it was to character's looking up at the sky, and then a the words "What's up?" came up on the screen. It really made my day.

I found out today the my MIL wants a bag for her bingo dabbers, so there's another project added to my WIP list.

I'm also making something for my secret pal (the one I'm sending stuff to).

That's about all for today. I'm going to work on the bingo bag.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

To All of you gals out there that are mothers I'd like to wish you a "Happy Mother's Day!" I hope that your families took care of you today. I don't get to see my step-daughter until next weekend (and I don't expect any presents), but my sort-of-mother-in-law gave me a silver bangle today. I know she doesn't know I have a blog, but thanks.

Today my sort-of-mother-in-law and I went shopping at Wal-Mart today here in Red Deer, (while the guys were out golfing). When we went to the craft department I picked up another F hook and some crochet tread. I also saw some yarn on clearnce, but I'm going to be good and not pick up any until Thursday after work. (My bank account told me so.)

That's about it for today.

I can't believe it's Wenesday already

Wow it's already Wenesday. I guess it's time for another WIP list

1. The infamous crocheted monkey for my step-daughter. Seriously, do you guys think I should frog this project (Input please.)
2. The knitted poncho for a christmas present. Still no more yarn for that project, so no progress either, once I finish one project I'll buy more yarn for this one first.
3. The Diamond and Lace poncho. I have to buy more yarn for that one.
4. The Sweet Feburary Shawl. You guessed it, I need more yarn.
5. The crochet tote bag that I am designing. Nothing new on this one either, other projects have a higher priority then this one. My goal is to finish it before I go on vacation this summer.
6. The cabled knitted sweater for my friend at work. One sleve almost done.
7. Still working on the poncho for my friend at work. I lost my needle today though so I won't be working on it until late next week.
8. The Butterfly Shawl at crochetville.org. I'm making this one with black worseted weight yarn for my Grandmother.

I do have one FO for this week though, I made a crochet hook case for myself.

I've been good though, I haven't bought anymore yarn for myself. The real test will be next payday when I have to go to a craft store to buy stuff for my secret pal. (Buying yarn for the crochetville summer swap doesn't count towards my stash since I'm not going to keep it.)

So that's about it for now. I must go and work on one or two projects.

It's May Day!

Okay I know it's almost done, but today is the first day of May. Only 24 more days until my Birthday. (Okay I'm a little too happy about that, but my boyfriend is taking me to see Star Wars.)(I've never seen a Star Wars movie in theater).

I'm almost done one UFO. The crochet hook case that I started last week is almost done. The next project I think I'll finish is the shawl for my Grandma. The only thing that I don't think I'll ever get done is the crocheted monkey.

Oh and one more thing. The Crochetville Summer Swap started today. I haven't recieved anything yet, but I have sent something to my secret pal. Don't worry, there's more to come later.
